This Privacy Policy explains how PeerPizza ("we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, and protects information when you use peer-pizza.vercel.app (the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to this policy.

1. Information We Collect

  • Files you share via P2P: Transferred directly between browsers using WebRTC. They are never uploaded to or stored on our servers.
  • Files you share via Quick or Relay: Temporarily stored on our cloud storage providers and automatically deleted after 24 hours.
  • Room & presence data: A randomly generated room code, your chosen display name, and an online/typing status while you are in a room. This is removed when rooms expire.
  • Account data (optional): If you register, we store your email address and an encrypted password to let you save rooms.
  • Technical data: Standard log information such as browser type and approximate region, used to keep the Service secure and reliable.

2. How We Use Information

  • To operate file transfers, rooms, chat, and presence features.
  • To maintain security and prevent abuse.
  • To display advertising that keeps the Service free (see below).

3. Cookies & Advertising

We use cookies and similar technologies to operate the Service and to show ads.

  • Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites.
  • Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this and/or other sites on the Internet.
  • You may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. You can also opt out of third-party vendor cookies at aboutads.info/choices.

4. Third-Party Services

The Service relies on the following providers, each with their own privacy policies:

  • Google AdSense — advertising. Google Privacy Policy
  • Appwrite — authentication, rooms, chat, and temporary file storage.
  • Cloudflare R2 — temporary storage for Relay transfers.
  • PeerJS — signaling that helps two browsers connect for P2P transfers.

5. Data Retention

P2P files are never retained. Quick and Relay files, rooms, messages, and presence data are automatically deleted within 24 hours. Account data is kept until you delete your account.

6. Your Rights

You may request access to or deletion of your account data at any time by contacting us. You can use the Service without an account and without providing any personal information.

7. Children's Privacy

The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes are effective when posted on this page.
